A Cowboy's Touch: My Review

A Cowboy's Touch (A Big Sky Romance)

About the Book:
Wade's ranch home needs a woman's touch. Abigail's life needs a cowboy's touch.

Four years ago, rodeo celebrity Wade Ryan gave up his identity to protect his daughter. Now, settled on a ranch in Big Sky Country, he lives in obscurity, his heart guarded by a high, thick fence.

Abigail Jones isn't sure how she went from big-city columnist to small-town nanny, but her new charge is growing on her, to say nothing of her ruggedly handsome boss. Love blossoms between Abigail and Wade--despite her better judgment. Will the secrets she brought with her to Moose Creek, Montana separate her from the cowboy who finally captured her heart?

My Comments:
I've said before that sometimes I think mass-market romance writers are lazy.  If they want to show attraction between two people, they send them off to bed and let us watch the action.  Those who write Christian romance can't do that, so they have to work a little harder, and, as a general rule, I find that they either end up being so chaste as to make you roll your eyes, or, as in the case here, absolutely sizzling.

Abigail and Ryan did not have romance on their mind when they met, but the attraction between them wouldn't go away.  Both had skeletons in their closets that they had to let go of before they could live happily ever after.

For the first third of the book, I would have classified this more as a clean romance than as a Christian one.  It was mentioned that the characters went to church, but that was about it.  While religion is never the focus of the book, the resolution of the story comes when Abigail realizes she has a Redeemer, and doesn't need to redeem herself.

I'd like to thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for making a review copy available via NetGalley.  Grade:  B+
